Coca-Cola joins forces with Surly’s to create week long Southern themed menu

SYDNEY –
November 2015: Coca-Cola South Pacific has teamed
up with Surry Hills based American BBQ style joint, Surly’s, to give Sydneysiders a taste of the south with a Coca-Cola inspired ‘specials’ menu
available for one week only.
The week-long southern spread has been created to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the iconicCoca-Cola Contour bottle, a design that
was patented in 1915 and is arguably one of the most widely recognised icons in
the world.
Patrons can expect to sample cuisine that is slow cooked and succulent, infused with the distinctiveCoca-Cola flavour and delicately balanced
to create the perfect
combination of smoky and sweet.
Surly's American head chef, Brendhan Bennison, uses an imported Ole Hickory wood smoking 'pit' from Missouri, USA, to bring Sydneysiders a real taste of American BBQ.
Bennison says, "Coca-Cola is a really fun ingredient to use because of its naturally sweet flavour which really shines through in a sauce. To mark the 100th Anniversary I’ve made a one-of-a-kind, thick, sweet homemade BBQ sauce which will add a punch of flavour to our pork and chicken recipes.”
Surly’s will be serving four Coca-Cola themed dishes during both lunch and dinner, which include:
