At Coca-Cola, we’re committed to serving you delicious, refreshing beverages of the highest quality and safety.

As part of this commitment, we are continuously looking at the ingredients used in our products and moving towards a standardisation of our ingredients globally.

One change recently announced by The Coca-Cola Company is a decision to transition away from the ingredient brominated vegetable oil (BVO), used in some beverages in the United States. The ingredient is currently used to provide a cloudy appearance in beverages such as Powerade and Fanta.

This change is not applicable to Australia and New Zealand as BVO is not used in any of our products.

BVO is completely safe, however the Company is moving towards being consistent in the ingredients it uses around the world.

This transition to replacement ingredients will be complete in the United States by the end of 2014.
