What did you want to be when you grew up? Many will have dreamed of being a fireman, a vet or a nurse. For some young Australians the challenges in their life mean these types of dreams seem far out of reach. They need a guiding hand and extra support to help them dream and believe all they can and should become.
The Beacon Foundation (BEACON) aims to do just that – by supporting young people to develop and achieve personal success for themselves and their community. The program links schools with local business and the community to ensure young people are able to access opportunities to be either earning or learning at the vulnerable transition points in their schooling.
Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It
Sarah appeared as a special guest at the invitation only event, where students make a public pledge to better their future. In signing, the students pledge that by the following year they will be in further education, training or employment.
Students from 19 New South Wales schools attended the Charter Signing Ceremony as well as local businesses, parents, teachers and members of the community – the very people who Beacon helps bring together to shape a positive future for these young people.

Sarah performed several of her songs in a private concert for the crowd and shared her inspiring stories about her own personal journey from talented hopeful to success in the cut-throat world of the music industry.
